Description

The OnlineFishing.tv team joins the 24/7 sea angling club of Plymouth for a brilliant rock climbing and ray fishing adventure on the year’s highest tide.

Sea Watch UK is the only TV series being made exclusively for the UK’s sea anglers, and in this episode presenter Andy Ford ‘hooks up’ with the 24/7 sea angling club of Plymouth for a rare chance to target rays from the shore.

Andy’s visit coincides with the highest tide of the year, bringing small eyed and blonde rays within casting range. The mark is not for the faint hearted, but it’s one of the few places where it is possible to catch rays in daylight – that’s if you do it right.

“The best way to fish this mark is to use strong beachcasting equipment and a quality reel,” explains club stalwart Nick Panther.

“You need to use pulley rigs, single hooks or Pennels, baited with either sandeel, whole calamari squid or peeler crab. And you must make sure your rigs have at least an 80lb leader and 60lb trace in case you hook into a big blonde ray or a smoothhound.”

Find out about the importance of fresh, live bait and how to get hold of it, and witness the lengths these boys go to, to bag some super fish.

Enjoy lots of laughs with a great bunch of lads and some top anglers, plenty of fish and loads of tips in a really enjoyable show at a fantastic North Cornwall location...

About The 24/7 Sea Angling Club

The 24/7 club has been in existence for over a decade and in that time they have made a number of TV shows and DVDs, highlighting some of the very best fishing around the south west coast of England.

This is a tightly-knit group of mates who fish hard, laugh hard and happen to be very, very good sea anglers as well.

Club members often field test equipment and review tackle for top sea angling magazines and websites.

The 24/7 club has a tournament casting team but the ethos is to try and educate up and coming anglers, both old and new, to realise the importance of ‘catch and release’ to protect pressured sea fish stocks for future angling generations.
